Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
500 to 1,000

The White Biquinho pepper is a rare and eye-catching heirloom variety originating in Brazil, where it has long been prized for its unique shape, gentle heat, and exceptional flavor. The name “biquinho” means “little beak” in Portuguese—a nod to the pepper’s distinctive teardrop form with a pointed tip, resembling a tiny bird’s beak.

These petite peppers begin bright green and mature to a creamy, ivory white, creating a striking contrast against the plant’s deep green foliage. White Biquinho plants are extremely productive, often yielding hundreds of pods per season, making them a favorite among home gardeners and specialty growers alike.

Despite their delicate appearance, White Biquinho peppers deliver an intensely aromatic, fruity flavor reminiscent of habanero peppers—without the burn. With a mild heat level averaging 500 to 1,000 Scoville Heat Units, they provide just a gentle warmth that enhances dishes without overwhelming them.

Versatile and flavorful, White Biquinho peppers can be enjoyed fresh or pickled and are excellent in salsas, salads, sandwiches, pizzas, pastas, or as a bright finishing touch atop grilled meats and cheeses. Their mild heat, beautiful color, and complex flavor make them an outstanding choice for both culinary creativity and ornamental appeal.

    Good Producer

I planted 2 flower boxes of these lovely little bird beak peppers and have a lot to harvest. My question is how do I know they are ripe? Mine are still very firm.

    tainted seed batch

    Posted by R on 1st Aug 2024

The seeds I got must have been accidently cross-pollinated with a hotter variety because the ones I pick from my plant are very spicy. I know that it is not a tastebud issue on my end because I also got Peachadews from here which do have an extremely mild heat consistent with their description, and these are supposedly supposed to be even less spicy. Also they look a bit different than how they are pictured: while still teardrop-shaped and white, mine are larger and more bulbous, not round and smooth like the ones pictured. Definitely thinking the ones I got were genetically tainted.

They grew fine but less well than my other varieties.
