Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
1,463,700

Trinidad Scorpion strain, the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T held the title as the hottest pepper in the world in 2011. The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T, which was originally developed by Butch Taylor, is a superhot pepper as it averages about 800,000 to 1,463,700 Scoville Heat Units. It doesn’t quite have the heat level of the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion or the Carolina Reaper, but it has a similar sweet, fruity flavor. When consumed, the Trinidad Scorpion heat tends to kick in almost immediately, unlike some other superhots like the slow-burning Ghost pepper and Naga Viper. The Trinidad Scorpion is Butch T widely sought after by pepper growers because of its combination of extreme heat, delicious fruity flavor, and unique appearance.

The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T's flavor is like most superhots as there is a fruity flavor that can be tasted before the intense heat level kicks in. The Trinidad Scorpion Butch T has a similar appearance to other Trinidad Scorpion peppers with the stinger. They grow to one to two inches in length.

Most seeds sprouted and each plant produced a ton of chile peppers. Am now well stocked and making spicy chili tonight!
