The Red Naglah was created by crossing the original 7 Pot Douglah and the Red Ghost (Bhut Jolokia) pepper. The Red Naglah is similar in size to the Red 7 Pot Douglah pepper but some pods look more like stubbier Ghost peppers. The Red Naglah has a fruity flavor and less heat compared to the original 7 Pot Douglah. Most people that have tried both the red and chocolate versions of the Naglah prefer the flavor profile of the Red 7 Pot Douglah. The Red Naglah averages about 1,000,000 to 1,265,000 Scoville Heat Units.
Naglah pepper plants, which typically grow to be about three to four feet tall, produce wrinkled peppers that are extremely spicy. The Naglah pepper is slightly hotter than the Red 7 Pot, making it one of the hottest peppers in the world, but not quite as hot as the Carolina Reaper or Trinidad Moruga Scorpion on the Scoville Heat Scale.
