The 7 Pot Bubblegum is one of the hottest peppers in the world. Created by crossing the Yellow 7 Pot and the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, the 7 Pot Bubblegum pepper is extremely unique because of the bleeding of red color that moves from the pepper itself through the stem. The exotic appearance of the color bleeding up the stem along with the extreme heat level has resulted in the 7 Pot Bubblegum pepper surging in popularity. Similar to other superhot peppers, the 7 Pot Bubblegum’s flavor is fruity and sweet, but its extreme heat comes on fast. Once the pod has matured into a dark red, the stem tends to linger at that classic bubble gum color. The 7 Pot Bubblegum pepper has an appearance similar to that of the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion and the 7 Pot pepper. 7 Pot Bubblegum peppers grow to be about the size of a golf ball.
The 7 Pot Bubblegum pepper’s heat is similar to that of the Ghost pepper as it ranges from 850,000 to 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Although the 7 Pot Bubblegum is considered a superhot pepper, it still ranks behind the Carolina Reaper pepper, as well as its close relatives, the Trinidad Scorpion pepper and the Trinidad 7 Pot pepper.
The 7 Pot pepper was originally grown in Trinidad, and there are several different colored strains, including the Red 7 Pot, White 7 Pot, 7 Pot Brain Strain, Chocolate 7 Pot, 7 Pot Primo, Yellow 7 Pot, and 7 Pot Douglah. The 7 Pot pepper is related to the Trinidad Scorpion pepper, one of the hottest peppers in the world.
