Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
15,000 – 30,000

The Lemon Drop pepper, also known as the Aji Lemon pepper,  is a very popular peppery due to its spicy flavor and colorful appearance. The heat level is significant, but not overbearing. The Lemon Drop pepper has the perfect blend of citrus tang and medium spice, making it a very popular pepper for hot salsas and citrus-based hot sauces. Lemon Drop peppers grow on high yielding plants that can reach 3 feet in height. Lemon Drop peppers average about 15,000 to 30,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).

The peppers, which grow to about two to three inches in length, start off green and mature to a golden yellow color. During the summer months, Lemon Drop pepper plants bloom white flowers, making them beautiful plants that add a burst of bright color to any garden. For those looking for a different yellow pepper with a higher heat rating Scoville Scale, the Yellow 7 Pot Fatalii, or Yellow Ghost pepper are popular options.

I found these guys through their pictures on Instagram and decided to put in an order. I am fairly new to peppers so I didn’t know what to expect but my seeds are thriving after only a month or so being planted.

After shopping around and evaluating different seed companies, I decided to order several different seeds from Tyler Farms and I am so glad that I did. My small package of seeds arrived within a week of when I ordered them and I am on my way towards creating an edible garden.

    Hi Kirk,
I bought the lemon seeds from you back in June and just had my first harvest. Not only did I have a plant that was loaded with peppers, but they are actually peppers that I can use. HALLELUJAH! Anyway, I froze a bunch so I can have them all year long.
    Peace and Love,
    Jill
