A cross between the Cotton Candy Habanero and Yellow Scotch Bonnet, the Cotton Candy Scotch Bonnet has a sweet, tropical fruit flavor with Scotch Bonnet level heat. The pods start off green, develop purple blushing, and eventually ripen to a peach color. Cotton Candy Scotch Bonnet peppers can be used in all sorts of Caribbean cuisine, including the well-known jerk chicken and jerk pork.
The variety was developed at Innovation Acre by Steve Bender. It’s close relative, the Cotton Candy Habanero, which was also created at Tyler Farms, is a cross between a Peach Habanero and White 7 Pot Bubblegum.
