The Yellow Biquinho pepper is a beautiful and exotic pepper that originally came from Brazil. The small peppers start off green and ripen to yellow. Yellow Biquinho peppers grow on high yielding plants that can produce hundreds of pods in a single growing season. The peppers have the delicious Habanero-like fruity flavor, but they have a mild heat level as they average about 500 to 1,000 Scoville Heat Units. Yellow Binquinho peppers have a very unique teardrop shape that’s somewhat reminiscent of a tiny bird beak. The peppers, which can be pickled or used fresh, are delicious in salsas, salads, sandwiches, pizza, pastas or atop meats.
