The Yellow 7 Pot Nebru was created by crossing the 7 Pot Jonah and the Yellow Scotch Bonnet. Developed in Australia, 7 Pot Nebru peppers have a delicious fruity flavor and good heat. The peppers aren't quite in the superhot category, but they're much hotter than a typical Scotch Bonnet and have a very similar citrusy flavor. The 7 Pot Nebru pepper is believed to average close to 800,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). The tropical fruit flavor and spicy heat level make it a fantastic pepper for salsas and hot sauces because the heat is significant but not overbearing.
There are several different colored strains of 7 Pot peppers, including the Red 7 Pot, Yellow 7 Pot, White 7 Pot, Chocolate 7 Pot, 7 Pot Brain Strain, and 7 Pot Primo. The 7 Pot pepper is related to the Trinidad Scorpion pepper, one of the hottest peppers in the world.
