Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
5,000 – 30,000

The White Aribibi Gusano Caterpillar pepper is a variety known for its unique appearance and exceptional flavor. The peppers, which start off green and ripen to white, resemble the appearance of a caterpillar, which is how it got its intriguing name. Typically reaching about inches in length, the peppers have slightly wrinkled skin that hints at its sweet, fruity flavor profile.

When ripe, the White Aribibi Gusano offers quite a kick, typically averaging about 200,000 to 400,000 Scoville Heat Units. It is a versatile choice for salsas, sauces, and a range of culinary dishes. Its sweetness balances the heat, adding depth to recipes. Originally hailing from Bolivia, this pepper is not only prized for its taste but also its versatility. White Caterpillar Gusano peppers make a delicious tasting white sauce, and can be dried and ground into a delicious powder too.
