Thor's Thunderbolt Pepper Live Plant

Scoville Heat Units:
300,000 - 500,000

Thor’s Thunderbolt is a stunning hybrid developed by Rebecca Johnston and Trevor Griffiths in North Queensland. The plants, which have dark foliage, produce peppers that start off purple and eventually ripen to a peachy cream color. The pepper is named for its lightning bolt-like shape and intense heat, as the plants produce a variety of jagged pods. The skin is wrinkled and bumpy, and the pepper itself has a distinctive shape.

The pepper averages about 300,000 to 500,000 Scoville Heat Units, making it not quite as hot as the Ghost pepper. Despite the heat, Thor’s Thunderbolt peppers are noted for having a fruity and somewhat sweet flavor, similar to a Ghost pepper.

Thor’s Thunderbolt pepper can be used in cooking, such as hot sauces, salsas, and other spicy dishes. Due to its extreme heat, a little goes a long way. Thor’s Thunderbolt is appreciated not only for its culinary uses but also for its attractive and unusual shape, making it a favorite among gardeners who enjoy growing unique pepper varieties.

At Tyler Farms, we grow our plants the old fashioned way: no pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers, and we only use all natural fertilizers like worm castings and fish emulsion.

Plants are shipped in 3 inch reusable plastic pots and are approximately 4 to 6 inches tall.

    Arrived in great condition

Thor's Thunderbolt pepper plant has grown well in my garden, producing a large number of peppers. The heat level is extremely high, more than I expected. The peppers are great for adding a fiery touch to dishes, but be cautious if you’re not used to extremely hot peppers. The plant does need regular watering and full sun to thrive.

    Strong and Spicy

This pepper plant is strong and resilient, and the peppers it produces are seriously spicy. Thor's Thunderbolt peppers have a unique flavor that adds depth to any dish. The plant has been very productive, and the peppers have a long shelf life when picked at mid ripeness. If you’re into super-hot peppers, this plant is a great choice.
