Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
50,000-150,000

A pepper developed by Steve Bender at Innovation Acre, the Tabanero is a cross between two world-famous peppers: the Tabasco and Habanero. The goal of the cross was to create a hotter version of the Tabasco while also maintaining its unique juiciness. The Tabanero has a sensational burst of flavor and more intense heat than the traditional Tabasco pepper. The complex, vibrant flavor is described as both sweet and slightly fruity and tangy. It is averages between 50,000 and 150,000 Scoville Heat Units. Tabanero peppers are elongated and grow slightly thicker than Tabasco peppers.

Grew these this year for the first time and had great luck work a couple of plants that were loaded with pods. The peppers are juicy like tabascos and have great heat and flavor. I’m growing them again this year for sure.
