Created by pepper grower Drax Diego in Italy, the Rhino DD looks somewhat like an elongated Orange Trinidad Scorpion as most pods have a stinger-like tail. The peppers, which start off green and ripen to orange, grow to be about 3 to 4 inches in length.
The Rhino DD pepper is renowned for its combination of heat and flavor and although it has not officially been tested, it is believed to average over 1,000,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). Beneath the incredible heat lies a subtle, fruity sweetness that will add a tropical touch to a variety of dishes. This unique combination of flavors makes the Rhino DD pepper perfect for salsas, hot sauces, and marinades.
