The Red MA Wartryx was created by Matthew Arthur as a result of crossing the Trinidad Scorpion, 7 Pot Jonah, and Ubatuba. MA Wartryx peppers are round, have bumpy skin, and ripen from green to red. They have bumpy skin like a 7 Pot Brain Strain and an unusual shape similar to that of the Bishop's Crown. Some of the pods have more of a stinger-like point protruding from the bottom of the pepper.
The MA Wartryx pepper is very spicy and has a fruity flavor with a floral aroma. Fresh ripe pods of the pepper have high concentrations of capsicum oil on the inside walls, which contribute to their superhot heat level. The peppers have soft, thin walls which make them great for hot sauce, salsa, or as a superhot powder. Although it has not officially been tested, it is believed to be about as spicy as a Trinidad Scorpion, which averages 800,000 to 1,300,000 Scoville Heat Units.
