Red Cayennetta Pepper Seeds

Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
30,000 - 50,000

Cayennetta is a delicious Cayenne variety that has a medium heat level. The peppers, which are very easy to grow, begin producing early in the season and are very high yielding. Cayennetta peppers are smaller than traditional Cayenne peppers, averaging about 3 to 4 inches in length.  The peppers are also tolerant to cooler temperatures compared to most varieties. Like their traditional Cayenne peppers, the Cayennetta is best known for its ability to increase the heat level and enhance the flavor of food. In addition to enhancing flavor, the peppers provide numerous nutritional benefits, including high levels of nutrients and health-improving compounds.

Like the Jalapeno, Cayennetta peppers are very popular because they are hot enough to feel spicy, but not overly spicy, making them a family-friendly pepper. The Cayennetta pepper has become a popular choice for farmers and market growers as the plants are heavy yielders that bear plenty of peppers per season and are ideal for hot sauce and salsa. The Cayennetta has a very similar heat level to the traditional Cayenne, which averages 30,000 to 50,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), between the Serrano pepper and the Thai pepper. The Cayenne pepper family also includes the Golden Cayenne pepper.

I grew these last year from another seed company and they were my favorite. This year I bought a bunch of seeds from Tyler farms and so far so good. Haven't had any issues with germination. I also love the bonus free seeds I received. I'll have tons of new varieties in my garden this year!

So far so good. I heard from pepper geeks that this is a good variety. I haven't tasted it so this review is more of a review of my seed purchase. I ordered about a week ago and the seeds showed up yesterday, I got some free seeds too which is a nice bonus.
