Developed by Italian growers, the Purple Death pepper is a cross between the 7 Pot Primo and the Purple Ghost pepper. The peppers, which start off purple and ripen to red, are extremely hot and are considered superhots. It’s an ornamental that is both beautiful and delicious, as its fruity flavor and extreme heat can be used to make spicy salsa or hot sauce. The plants have dark foliage and beautiful purple flowers. The Purple Death pepper looks somewhat like the Carolina Reaper, except Purple Death peppers have smooth skin like the Trinidad Scorpion Butch T.
