Developed in Italy, the Pink Tiger is a stunning hybrid created by crossing the Bhut Jolokia and Pimenta de Neyde peppers. The pepper features a striking color transition, beginning as deep purple and maturing into creamy pods accented with bold purple stripes. The peppers are considered hot as they average about 250,000 to 500,000 Scoville Heat Units, making them hotter than a Habanero but not as hot as a Ghost pepper.
These peppers can be pickled with vinegar, salt, and spices, creating a tangy condiment for tacos, sandwiches, or even cheese platters. They can also be added to stir-fried vegetables or meats for an extra kick. They pair well with other Asian-inspired ingredients like soy sauce, ginger, and garlic.
