Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
10,000 - 23,000

When you see it, you can’t ignore its phallic shape. Named for its unique appearance, the Peter pepper is known for its phallic appearance when fully grown. It has been described as a “miniature replica of the circumcised male organ.” The Peter pepper has a  long conical shape and a bulbous end that shares an uncanny resemblance to a penis.

The Peter pepper has a medium heat level as it averages about 10,000 to 23,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU). It’s hotter than a Jalapeno pepper and has a similar heat level to the Vegas Serrano. The pepper grows to four to six inches long and ripens from green to a red.  The taste of the pepper is similar to the Jalapeno, but has a slight sweet flavor. It can easily replace the Jalapeno in a dish for a spicier heat level.

Tyler Farms teamed up with the San Diego Padres to provide them with several Peter pepper plants for both the Padres bullpen and the visitor's bullpen.

These peppers are not only hilarious to look at but also quite hot. They were easy to grow, and the plants were very productive. Highly recommend!

    Worth the Wait

The peppers took a bit longer to mature, but the wait was worth it. The shape is unique, and they add a nice heat to my dishes. Would recommend to any pepper lover.

Grew these as a fun gift for my gardening friends. They loved the shape and the heat of the peppers. The seeds germinated well and grew into healthy plants.

Fun to grow and taste great

Posted by Sharon on 21st Feb 2021

I ordered these as a joke early summer of 2020. I was late planting but ended up with three plants, two of which produced quite nicely. One in a raised bed and one in a pot. The one in the pot I brought inside when it began to get too cold for it outside. I lost some leaves but in the last few weeks has put out more leaves and I noticed a bloom on it today. I harvested seeds from the ones last year and planted them (along with new seeds I purchsed from you this year) and all are beginning to come up in my indoor garden. So are my Grande Jalepenos! Thanks for an awesome product!
