The Peppapeach Stripey is an incredibly delicious pepper described as sweet and fruity with a touch of spice. Discovered by Matt Layton in 2021, the Peppapeach Stripey is best known for its unique coloration as the peach-colored pods develop red stripes and spots as they ripen. Each pod has a unique pattern, ranging from solid stripes to speckled red accents. Aside from its visual appeal, the Peppapeach Stripey offers a mild heat and a fruity flavor, making it ideal for adding a sweet and spicy kick to salads, salsas, and other dishes.
The highly productive plants ensure a generous yield of these beautifully striped peppers throughout the growing season. Perfect for culinary and ornamental purposes, the Peppapeach Stripey pepper is an excellent choice for gardeners and cooks who appreciate unique, flavorful peppers. Although it has not officially been tested, the Peppapeach Stripey is believed to average about 1,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
Renowned pepper grower Chris Fowler also influenced this variety and has helped stabilize it. The "Stripey" pattern is a natural mutation that has appeared in various other peppers including the Sugar Rush Stripey and Zebrange.
