Scoville Heat Units (SHU):

The Orange and Caribbean Red Habanero Pepper Seed Blend celebrates the first pepper variety ever grown at Tyler Farms: the Habanero. As the name indicates, this is a pack of seeds that contains both the Orange Habanero and Caribbean Red Habanero.  The seeds are not marked to indicate which color they are, so you will not know the color until your peppers ripen. The pack contains a total of 10+ seeds.

The heat level of the Caribbean Red Habanero is extremely hot and the flavor is described as fruity and slightly smoky. Many spicy salsas and hot sauces list the Caribbean Red Habanero as an ingredient because of its delicious combination of flavor and heat. The peppers mature from green to a rich red color and increase in heat the more they ripen. In 1999, the Habanero was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's hottest pepper, but it has since been displaced by a number of other peppers. The Red Caribbean Habanero pepper ranges from 300,000 to 445,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).

The Orange Habanero is a very hot, lantern-shaped pepper that ripens from green to orange. In 1999, the Habanero was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's hottest pepper, but it has since been displaced by a number of other peppers. The Orange Habanero ranges from 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), which is about 70 times hotter than an average Jalapeño. Like other Habanero varieties, the Orange Habanero pepper is very spicy and has a slightly fruity flavor, which makes it very popular in hot sauces, salsas, and powders.
