Scoville Heat Units (SHU):
1,100

The Malawi Piquante pepper is  very sweet with a slight kick of heat. The thick-walled peppers originated in South Africa and are extremely similar to the trademarked brand name of sweet peppers. The delicious flavor and thick flesh make the Malawi Piquante pepper ideal for pickling and stuffing with cream cheese, which is how this pepper gained notoriety in the culinary world. This family friendly pepper, which looks like a small cherry tomato, has a low heat level as it averages about 1,100 Scoville Heat Units. Malawi Piquante pepper plants grow very fast, are highly productive, and can get over 4 feet tall.

    Excited for this season

Posted by Omar B. on 4th Jun 2024

Bought a pack last year and tried to grow 3 from seed with one that took but the growing season ran out on me (zone 6a) so they didn't ripen and were a very light green in color (think pea soup) so I picked them (4 fruits in total) and put them in a ferment.

This year I started 4 plants from seeds, 2 sprouted and one survived in the trays indoors. Planted that one last week and I'm excited to see how it produces.

    Love the peppadew!

Posted by Riley Wilcox on 26th Jan 2022

These are the famous Peppadew peppers that I have been looking for. I understand you can't use the peppadew name because it is trademarked but I really appreciate the fresh seeds and the extra bag of mystery seeds. I will be ordering again from you guys
