Jay’s Purple Ghost Scorpion pepper was created by crossing Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion and the Pink Tiger Ghost pepper. The peppers start off purple but eventually ripen to a purplish peach color. Jay's Purple Ghost Scorpion is a cross that was developed at Innovation Acre but the name pays homage to Jay Weaver, a pepper grower who created Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion.
Jay's Purple Ghost Scorpion grows into various shapes, with some having tails like a Trinidad Scorpion. The peach skin is thin and bumpy like a Ghost pepper. The heat level is extremely hot with a fruity flavor, similar to that of the Ghost pepper. Although it has not officially been tested yet, Jay's Purple Ghost Scorpion pepper likely averages over 800,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
At Tyler Farms, we grow our plants the old fashioned way: no pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers, and we only use all natural fertilizers such as worm castings and fish emulsion.
