Scoville Heat Units (Unofficial):
2,480,000

The Dragon's Breath is currently in the conversation as a possible contender for being named the world's hottest pepper as the unofficial testing of the pepper's heat level came in at approximately 2,480,000 Scoville Heat Units. The current hottest pepper in the world, according to Guinness World Records, is the Carolina Reaper.

The Dragon's Breath pepper was developed as part of a special project by Neal Price, NPK Technology, and Nottingham Trent University.  Their goal was to create a spicy pepper and use its essential oil as an anesthetic for patients who cannot tolerate other anesthetics, or in countries where they are too expensive. Mike Smith, a pepper grower in Welsh, eventually grew the Dragon's Breath pepper and entered it in a competitive garden show, where it gained even more notoriety.

The heat level of the Dragon's Breath overpowers the taste, which is described as fruity and sweet. There’s a lot more heat to the Dragon's Breath pepper than most other superhot peppers. The Dragon's Breath pepper somewhat resembles a combination of a 7 Pot and a Ghost pepper. It starts off green and ripens to red.

    Germinating well

Posted by Evan Houghen on 21st Nov 2020

They took about two weeks to pop but everything looks good so far. I grew them this past year from tyler farms and didn't want to save seeds, so I'm back for more. they're really fresh seeds that have good germination rates.

Can't wait to see these babies producing! I looked all over for these seeds and finally found them. THey sprouted after about 13 days. I got a great germination rate, so i can't ask for anything more.
