One of the most sought after ornamental peppers, the Black Pearl is a unique pepper because of its distinctive deep purple and black foliage, lavender flowers, and round, shiny, black peppers. Black Pearl peppers start off black and eventually ripen to red, which adds new color to an already stunning plant. Although Black Pearl peppers are known for their strikingly beautiful appearance, they actually have a medium heat level as they average 15,000 to 30,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
Black Pearl peppers are similar in size to the White Habanero pepper, and their heat level is similar to the Pequin pepper, Tabasco pepper, and Black Cobra pepper. A beautiful addition to any garden, the Black Pearl pepper is a very popular choice for ornamental pepper growers as they won the All American Selections award and the Fleuroselect Novelty award.
At Tyler Farms, we grow our plants the old fashioned way: no pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers, and we only use all natural fertilizers such as worm castings and fish emulsion.
Plants are shipped in 3 inch reusable plastic pots and are approximately 3 to 6 inches tall.
