The Big Bang Chocolate Naga, which is actually different than the Chocolate Naga Viper, is a recently developed pepper that derived from the Naga Morich. Pods are chocolate brown, wrinkled, up to a few inches long and have a searing hot heat. The heat rivals the Chocolate Ghost pepper and the Trinidad Scorpion. It is unclear how old this variety is so it may not yet be completely stable.
Its close relative, the Naga Viper, is a cross between three peppers: the Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, Naga Morich, and Ghost pepper. Some even say that the 7 Pot pepper was also involved in the creation of the Naga Viper. The Big Bang Chocolate Naga has not officially been test yet, but is believed to have a similar heat level as the Naga Viper, which averages 900,000 to 1,300,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
