The Aji Pineapple pepper has a delicious, tropical fruit flavor, along with moderate heat. Similar to the Aji Amarillo, the Aji Pineapple's heat level is significant, but not overbearing, making these flavorful peppers popular for a variety of dishes, especially South American cuisine. Aji Pineapple peppers grow on high yielding plants that can reach 3 feet in height. The peppers, which grow to about two to three inches in length, start off green and mature to light yellow. The Aji Pineapple pepper averages about 100,000 to 150,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), which is similar to the Aji Lemon, but not quite as hot as the Habanero pepper.
At Tyler Farms, we grow our plants the old fashioned way: no pesticides, no synthetic fertilizers, and we only use all natural fertilizers such as worm castings and fish emulsion.
Plants are shipped in 3 inch reusable plastics pots and approximately 4 to 6 inches tall.
