A cross between the 7 Pot Jonah and the Naga Viper, the 7 Pot Lucy is a superhot pepper with a delicious fruity flavor. Nick Duran, who developed the variety, named the pepper after one of his daughters. Duran also created the 7 Pot Katie, which is named after another one of his daughters.
The walls of the 7 Pot Lucy are thicker than typical superhot peppers but the flavor profile is similar. The taste and heat level of the 7 Pot Lucy pepper is similar to the Red 7 Pot, which has an extreme heat level and a fruity flavor. The 7 Pot Lucy averages over 900,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU).
There are several different colored strains of 7 Pot peppers, including the Red 7 Pot, Yellow 7 Pot, White 7 Pot, Chocolate 7 Pot, 7 Pot Brain Strain, and 7 Pot Primo. The 7 Pot pepper is related to the Trinidad Scorpion pepper, one of the hottest peppers in the world.
